The pet trade is responsible for many types of abuse against animals. With confinement, poor husbandry, and wild-caught individuals, abuse is normalized and even encouraged. Some of these animals’ caretakers are uneducated on their care, or have been misinformed, while many just don’t care.

This portfolio consists of animals awaiting purchase in pet stores, as well as animals living their life in an unsuitable home, such as birds (including ornamental poultry), reptiles, amphibians, rabbits, dogs, and rodents.
